This was the name given to the wind that carried ancient sailors to Greece, and it now describes this stretch of flat terrain interspersed with water areas that add a complication to the circuit.

Hole 1

Par 4. The drive must be very straight because the fairway is flanked by a dense pine forest on both sides. The second stroke requires a medium iron to reach a large green.

Hole 2

Par 5. Strategy plays an important role in this hole. From the drive, we have to decide whether to play conservatively or risk trying to overcome the estuary that crosses the fairway. The second shot should be as long as possible to try to reach a very protected green with the shortest possible iron.

Hole 3

Par 4. A short and very simple hole. With a normal drive, we will reach the green with a wedge. This is clearly a recovery hole.

Hole 4

Par 3. A tense drive with a medium iron towards a green that is very protected by a lake on its right side. If we manage to place the ball on the green, we will find a very fast put with more of a drop than you might expect.

Hole 5

Par 4. A relatively short hole with a simple drive to a fairway that opens a long way to the right. This facilitates fade shots. The green instead is more complex, with three very pronounced pianos and some really critical flag positions.

Hole 6

Par 3. Short hole where the drive is done from a height. Although it might seem simple, you have to gauge your drive well to reach a green completely surrounded by bunkers and crossed by a ridge that forces you to consider your put well.

Hole 7

Par 3. One of the longest holes on the course. The drive must lean to the right to avoid a large lake on the fairway’s left. The shot to the green is usually very long and its main difficulty lies in its two deep British-style bunkers.

Hole 8

Par 4. A hole that is complex due to its length and the large lake that occupies the entire left area of the fairway, extending from the drive’s landing area to the green.

Hole 9

Par 5. A hole that is not too long but very technical with a pronounced dogleg on the left and an estuary that crosses the fairway. Hard hitters can try in two strokes to go to a green heavily protected by three large bunkers.
